GRAPHITE DRAWING WORKSHOP

A beginner-friendly 4-hour Graphite workshop exploring light, shadow, tone and expressive mark-making from photographic reference. I’m Bethany, an artist and art teacher who has been working at a fine art school on the Sunny Coast for the past three years. I recently moved to Melbourne and am excited to be running the first of what I hope will be many drawing workshops at The Mezzanine. This Graphite drawing workshop is a four-hour, beginner-friendly workshop exploring how to build a drawing from scratch using accurate perspective, tone and expressive mark-making. We’ll begin with a series of quick studies to loosen up and get familiar with the medium, before working step by step through a more resolved graphite drawing from photographic reference. I’ll demonstrate the process as we go, with plenty of individual guidance throughout the workshop. No previous drawing experience is required! I totally get that booking a class can be a daunting thing, if you have any questions or want further info please feel free to reach out I would be happy to chat!
