Kindsugi Workshop Sunday October 25th, 2026 = Upcycling + Kindness

Relax and create with purpose, as we turn otherwise unwanted paper into unique and beautiful items which honour the past, generate kindness right now, and value sustainability for the future 💚♻️ What can you make? It's up to you! We'll teach you some techniques to sew upcycled paper into unique and also practical creations such as gift cards, gift-tags, bunting, notebooks and bookmarks. You’re welcome to: • work on your own creative project • join our group creative project • make something for our community project What’s the community project? This is where we're a little different. We're all about workshops where not only do you learn new skills and make beautiful things for yourself, but we also integrate an optional community project where participants can also make a personalised and uplifting creation for others in the community who may be having a hard time at the moment. The creations can be made in a single session, and are adaptable to interest / skill / capacity. They're an accessible, small act of kindness which can make a big impact for someone else in our community ✨ Gallery inspo for the session Being located within such a vibrant and unique gallery, Unassigned Gallery, we're excited to also include some of the creative ideas and inspiration from the incredible exhibits on display. Do you need experience in crafting, sewing or upcycling? Definitely not - all levels are welcome ✅ We're here to meet you wherever you're at, and feel up for 🙌 Principles of our session: We focus on kindness, inclusion and sustainability, and ask for our participants to respect this vibe and intention so that we have a safe and positive space for all who are there. This is a FREE workshop for everyone. If you're keen to support this as a free event, we so appreciate any help with pack-up at the end, social media posts / shares, spreading the word to others not on social media about the workshops, donating hard-rubbish scavenged craft supplies, teaching us a paper or upcycled craft idea you've dreamed up, &/or any other ideas you might have. These events take a village, and we welcome any part you may wish to play in that. Or if finances are in your favour at the moment, a $10 donation to help cover materials costs is available at check-out. But everyone is welcome, regardless. Like the old adage, your presence is our presents! We can't spell community, without y.o.u. :-D What if I register but can't make it? We understand that things come up, especially if you're unwell (we appreciate maintaining a healthy space with any active illness being kept at home). We just ask that you let us know so we can open up the space to someone else (we only issue a limited number of spots so that the session doesn't feel too crowded or full). We can't wait to meet and craft with you!! 💚♻️
