Life Models' Society Model Workshop (BCAS) September 2026

The workshop is suitable for people with no experience, or a small amount of experience, or all levels of experience as a life model. Models with experience in the field, or who have modelling experience primarily in another industry, who wish to join the LMS are also required to attend this workshop. The workshop is run by experienced life models who are members of the Life Models' Society. We cover life modelling basics, health and safety precautions, tips and tricks, boundaries and consent, with a focus on the LMS Working Conditions. Participants will receive a guide to take home, including a copy of the Working Conditions. You can assess, in a safe space, whether working as a life model is right for you. Attendees are organised into small groups led by an experienced member life model as your mentor for the workshop. Your mentor will provide guidance and feedback for the practical modelling exercises and support you during the workshop. Our one-on-one feedback, small group sizes for attendees plus the experience of being observed and drawn by trusted artists associated with the LMS, help ensure this is a valuable learning and welcoming experience for everyone. Upon completion, participants will be invited to join the LMS or a recommended to repeat the workshop if we feel you need extra support. Attending the workshop does not automatically provide membership of the LMS. This is an interactive session of up to 20 models, please be prepared to model nude. Bring a robe (minimum knee-length), slippers/thongs, and fabric to sit on. If you have a yoga mat, or similar, please bring this along as well.
