Mindful Consent Forum with Mistress Tokyo

Mindful Consent Public Forum MINDFUL CONSENT Hosted by Mistress Tokyo & Oz Kink Fest Consent with others begins with understanding what is happening within ourselves. Mindful Consent is an embodied approach to consent that explores the relationship between our nervous system, our internal responses and our capacity to give, recognise, communicate and withdraw consent. Developed by Mistress Tokyo, the Mindful Consent Model is designed to complement existing consent frameworks — adding an inward-facing understanding to the conversations and negotiations we have with others. PART 1: MINDFUL CONSENT INTENSIVE This session takes a practical look at consent within BDSM and kink. We’ll explore what consent is — and what it isn’t — alongside how we recognise our own responses and communicate them with others. Topics include negotiating consent in BDSM, recognising boundaries, identifying red flags, understanding capacity and developing practical harm-minimisation strategies. The session will also explore how the autonomic nervous system can influence our responses and what that can mean when negotiating and participating in kink. PART 2: MINDFUL CONSENT FORUM Following the intensive, Mistress Tokyo will facilitate an open forum and Q&A. Bring your questions, experiences and the difficult consent conversations that don't always have simple answers. The forum provides space for thoughtful, respectful and intellectually rigorous discussion about consent, BDSM, power and personal responsibility. You are equally welcome to participate in the conversation or simply listen. WHO IS IT FOR? Everyone. Whether you've been involved in BDSM for decades, are relatively new to kink, or are beginning to explore what consent means within these spaces, this event is designed to provide useful tools and new ways of thinking. Light refreshments will be provided.
