School Holiday Bug Detectives

Get ready for an exciting, school holiday adventure as we explore nature in search of amazing bugs! Children will become junior explorers, using observation skills to discover pollinator insects, spiders, and other tiny creatures hiding in the grasslands at Copernicus Way Reserve in Keilor Downs. Along the way, we'll learn fun facts about the important role pollinators and other bugs play in our environment, how to observe them safely and respectfully, and why every little creature matters. Magnifying glasses and bug-spotting guides will help young adventurers identify and record their discoveries before releasing them back into their natural habitats. Please note: Children must be supervised by their parent or carer for the entire duration of this event. This is not a drop-off school holiday program. Remember to wear comfortable clothes, closed-toe shoes, and a hat, and don't forget your water bottle and snacks. Spaces are limited so register now to secure your spot! Photography: Brimbank City Council uses photography and video within their events for promotions. Photos and video are used for marketing, social media and website/digital promotions purposes. Select Yes when registering if you give permission for any photos/video of registered adults and children to be taken during this event. Accessibility: The event will take place on a flat site that can be accessed via the footpath. We will have some chairs available for those who need it. Toilets: Please note there no public toilets at this park. Public toilets are available at Keilor Central Shopping Centre which is only a 3 minute drive from the park.
