Youth Seed Planting for Homegrown Food

This practical, hands-on workshop will give you the confidence to grow healthy vegetables at home, whether you have a large garden, a small courtyard, or just a few pots on a balcony. Please note this workshop is aimed at 12-17 years olds Workshop includes: • Hands-on seed sowing activities • Seeds, soil and all materials provided • A guided tour of Edendale's sustainable gardens • Take-home resources, including a seasonal planting guide and seed viability chart • Tips on saving your own seed, caring for seedlings and successful transplanting • Information on compost, worms, pests, beneficial insects and healthy soil • Your own sown vegetable seedlings to take home No home vegetable garden is required. Your seedlings can be grown in pots, planter boxes, or shared with family and friends.
