Since 2023 he has been working with NBA Basketball School Australia and is now the Technical Director of the NBA Basketball School in Melbourne. His coaching career began in Argentina, spending 10 years coaching at all levels with some of the best programs in the country. In 2014, he was hired to be the Head Coach of HR Portoviejo, a professional team in Ecuador’s National Professional Basketball League. After his professional coaching experience in Ecuador, Mariano spent over a year doing personal development in Europe and Asia, shadowing top basketball programs and coaches. In 2016, he moved to Australia, to become Assistant Coach of one of the most prestigious programs, Newington College – located in Sydney being close to one of the top coaches worldwide – Rex Nottage. In 2019 he was the Basketball Coach for the Second’s Team at St Joseph’s College in Sydney for 3 seasons. His passion and curiosity for the game of basketball, has taken Mariano to over 25 countries around the world.
