Looking Ahead | Asia-Pacific Lecture: Peter Varghese AO

Join Peter Varghese AO for a thought-provoking exploration of the forces shaping the future of the Asia-Pacific. As the Indo-Pacific undergoes significant geopolitical and economic transformation, Australia faces both new opportunities and complex strategic choices. This lecture will examine the region's shifting geoeconomic landscape, the possibilities and limitations of greater strategic autonomy, and the challenge of navigating an increasingly complex global environment shaped by the evolving roles and priorities of China and the United States. It will also explore the role of middle powers, the future of multilateral cooperation, and what may succeed the Washington Consensus in an increasingly contested global order. Don't miss this opportunity to hear from one of Australia's most respected voices on international engagement. We look forward to seeing you there.
