Men's Rugby World Cup 2027 The Men's Rugby World Cup comes to Newcastle in October 2027, with four pool matches at McDonald Jones Stadium and international fans arriving from around the world. Join us for our November members meeting to hear what the tournament means for Hunter-region tourism operators and how you can get involved and be booked over the next twelve months. Host and Quest Newcastle West franchisee Daniel Burton will share how the hotel is celebrating 150 years of the building’s remarkable heritage by capturing the stories of the people connected to it and bringing them into the guest experience as part of Newcastle’s visitor economy. Meet our Speakers: Brett Campbell, Head of Event Acquisition, Venues NSW Brett Campbell will provide an overview of how the tournament will operate across NSW, including venues, marketing, the scale of the event and the latest data on what's ahead. The presentation will explore what hosting four matches in Newcastle will look like on the ground, how members can prepare their businesses to welcome and service visiting teams and spectators, and opportunities to maximise the benefits of the tournament. Key dates and milestones over the coming year will also be highlighted. Jason Russell-Jones, Head of Rugby World Cup Legacy Projects, Rugby Australia Jason Russell-Jones will share how Rugby Australia is leveraging Rugby World Cup 2027 to create a lasting legacy for rugby across Australia, including host communities such as the Hunter. The presentation will explore club development, participation programs and investment in local facilities, along with opportunities for local industry to contribute to and benefit from these legacy initiatives. Kelsi Fryer, Head of Travel & Tourism, Rugby World Cup Experiences Kelsi Fryer joins us from Rugby World Cup Experiences (RWCE), the Official Provider of Premium Experiences and Travel for Men's Rugby World Cup 2027, in partnership with World Rugby. The presentation will explore how RWCE is developing ticket-inclusive travel packages combining accommodation, hospitality and curated experiences for domestic and international visitors. Kelsi will also provide an overview of the Official Travel Agent Program, connecting global agents selling tournament packages, including Wallabies Travel, All Blacks Travel and England Rugby Travel. A key focus will be how RWCE is encouraging visitors to explore beyond the host cities into regions such as Newcastle, the Hunter Valley and Port Stephens. Local tourism operators, accommodation providers and experience suppliers will learn how they can become involved in the program and connect with the international audience travelling to Australia for Rugby World Cup 2027.
