Dr Joss Kesby, Acting Senior Manager, Business Development, Knowledge Exchange and Enterprise, The University of Newcastle Not just lectures and labs: What the University can do for tourism: Joss will highlight the many ways industry can engage with the University – from accessing research and expertise, to identifying relevant funding programs, exploring new ideas and working together on real-world industry challenges. Mabel Moras-Young, third year Bachelor of Tourism, Hospitality and Events student, The University of Newcastle The student perspective: Mabel will share her experience studying Tourism, Hospitality and Events at Newcastle, including the experiences and industry connections shaping her studies and her perspective on entering the visitor economy. Dr Alana Thomson, Senior Lecturer in Tourism and Events and NTIG Committee Member, will facilitate the conversation. Event details: Date: 17 September 2026 Time: Meeting starts at 5pm, cruise and speakers from 5:30 - 6:30pm. Meeting finishes at 7pm.
