Upcycled Jewellery Making Workshop

Bring old jewellery and transform it into unique new pieces. *Workshop is open to all ages. * Children aged 12 years and younger will need to be accompanied by an adult and may need help. *If you are aged 13-15 years you will need to be signed in by an adult and they will need to stay at the library for the workshop. Give your old jewellery a new life in this creative hands-on workshop at the Textile Lab. Participants are invited to bring along unwanted, damaged, or outdated jewellery pieces to deconstruct, reimagine, and transform into unique new designs. Using beads, chains, pendants, and components salvaged from existing jewellery, participants will learn basic jewellery-making techniques and explore creative ways to combine old elements into fresh, contemporary pieces. The Textile Lab will provide jewellry and all jewellery-making tools and equipment, along with a selection of findings including gold and silver jump rings, clasps, earring hooks, wire, and other essential components to support the making process. Whether you're an experienced maker or a complete beginner, this workshop offers a fun and sustainable way to refresh treasured items, reduce waste, and express your creativity. Participants will leave with several handcrafted pieces of jewellery and the skills to continue creating at home.
