You're kidding me- Understanding early developmental assessments

Do you have concerns about your child's development but not sure what to do? In this session we will explore what steps you can take. Join us as Gaby and Rebecca from Inspire Allied Health and Education talk about the times in a child’s learning and development when additional support may be helpful. Many families are told that a concern or “red flag” has been noticed, yet feel unsure about what this means or what steps to take next. This session will provide families with a clear overview of the assessment and support pathways available when concerns are raised. We will explore who families can turn to for advice and assessments, what different assessments may involve, and how results can be used to guide meaningful supports at home, in early learning settings, and at school. Our aim is to empower families with knowledge, reduce uncertainty, and help them feel confident navigating the next steps in supporting their child’s development. Children are invited to attend sessions with their parent/carer. We will have activities set up near the presentation and council staff will be available to support children’s engagement with activities while parents tune into the presentation.
