Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) - September 2026 Perth

Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) is a two-day interactive workshop in suicide first-aid that teaches you how to recognise when someone may be at risk of suicide and how to work with them to create a plan that will support their immediate safety. ASIST is an internationally certified and recognised training and is considered the best practice when it comes to suicide intervention programs. Anyone 16 and over is eligible to register for this training session, and no prerequisites are required. The Construction Training Fund provides funding to MATES WA for the delivery of ASIST under certain guidelines; people working in site based construction roles are funded by when the individual completes the course successfully. For those participants in roles that do not fit the CTF criteria the cost per person is $300 plus GST. It must also be noted that if an otherwise CTF funded participant or non-funded participant cancels within ten working days prior to the course, or does not complete the course, MATES WA is not eligible for the funding and must recover the same cost from the participant/employer. The MATES facilitator will be in contact if there are any questions about eligibility. There is no refund available for cancellations within 10 working days of the course. MATES WA is only funded for participants who do attend and complete the entire course, if a space is held for a late cancellation that place is to be paid for by the nominating party.
