Blueback Community Day – Sue's Groyne Dive Site Join us for our monthly Blueback Freedivers' Community Day as we gather on the coastline of Derbal Nara - Cockburn Sound for a morning of ocean, connection and buddy freediving. Together we'll enjoy: 🌌 Exploring the magic cosmos of the blue world 🥾 A beach walk to the site 🫁 Calm morning pranayama and breath practices 🤿 A supervised freedive session 🌊 Our monthly ocean community connection This is one of Blueback's first open water freedive sessions of the year—a chance to slow down, reconnect with nature, share breakfast and stories on the beach and celebrate the friendships that make our community so special. Sunday 20 September, 7:00 am – Sunday 20 September, 11:00 am 📍 Meet at the end of Caledonia Loop, North Coogee WA 6163, with parking available off Caledonia Loop near Chelydra Park BYO freedive gear, your certification*, towel, water bottle, breakfast treats to share, a flask of coffee or some fruit or snacks for after the dive! Freedive Gear Hire is $85 per set. Contact us at least 3 days before the freedive session via email once registered if you need to hire gear. [email protected] NEW TO BLUEBACK OR FREEDIVING? *If you are: -new to our Blueback Freedive Community, and/or -not yet certified as a freediver, Please register for a Blueback course or program to learn good practices for safety, buddy freediving and open water freediving. It dramatically reduces risk of shallow water blackout or marine safety incidents to have the right knowledge and training. You are welcome to attend as a non-certified freediver but must contribute to our team safety-supervision via a participant fee and email us once registered here. Complete our registration form (including medical form) to ensure you are safe / fit to dive with our group. You must be a confident swimmer, in good general health and over 18 or freediving with parental / guardian agreement. This is a free community event for Blueback Freedivers**. New members to our community are welcome and can join for the season for only $100 (2026/2027 Season runs 1 Sept 2026 to 30 Aug 2027). This includes access to all our Blueback Freedive Community monthly events and annual campout. Registration is essential. Those only able to join for one Blueback Community Day may pay a reduced fee of $50. **Friends of Blueback Freedivers may attend their first session free by application via email with their Blueback freedive buddy cc'ed in.
