Beyond the Bio: Talking About Yourself and Your Work Whether you’re writing a bio, pitching a project, applying for a grant or just introducing yourself, talking about your work can feel surprisingly difficult. This practical workshop helps participants step back from the detail of what they do and identify the thread connecting their experience, interests and ideas. By understanding what it all adds up to, participants develop a clearer and more natural way of talking about themselves and their work. In this workshop, you will: • Identify the thread running through your work and experience • Explore what makes your perspective distinctive • Develop language for bios, introductions, pitches and applications • Learn a practical framework you can continue using after the workshop • Begin building a portfolio to capture useful stories, examples and insights.
