EcoHub Networking Event

Connect with locals who care about our environment at this relaxed networking event at the City of Melville EcoHub in Winthrop. Whether you have an idea to share, are looking for ways to get involved, are curious about local projects, or just want to connect - all are welcome! This event welcomes those interested in: • Building local leadership for sustainability action • Strengthening community resilience to climate and environmental shocks • Sustainable energy and reducing emissions • Sustainable transport • Climate sensitive food choices and growing food • Waste reduction and the circular economy • Increasing biodiversity Sessions will run every two months. 🤝 Share existing projects or groups (and your experience) 💡 Have an idea or problem to solve, looking for community input or support 🙋 Individuals interested in volunteering time, skills, knowledge 🔍 People looking for specific help from others (eg. a volunteer with canva skills, event volunteers) ❔ People just curious or exploring Event format: 6.35pm: Welcome and event overview 6.40pm: Lightning Pitches - Selected speakers will share their group, idea, or request in 30-45 seconds. Maximum eight speakers. Please email [email protected] if you are interested in doing a pitch. 6.50pm: Connection Cards - Write your requests or offers on a card and add to the Connection Wall 7.00pm to 8.00pm: Networking and light supper - Explore the Connection Wall, add your name to cards of interest, and connect with others. What to expect: Length 1.5hours Start time We recommend arriving on time so that you do not miss the instructions for the event. Location Inside the EcoHub Top Level Requirements Your curiousity, ideas, skills and experience Type of event and expectations (see highlighted section below) Adult social event - This is a casual/networking event, all adults welcome, please be respectful to each other and your environment. Guests assume responsibility for their own safety. (Older children with an interest in participating and accompanied by a parent are also welcome.) Accessibility One ACROD parking bay is available at front of EcoHub, rooms are located on multiple levels via a ramp and toilets are available within the venue. There are several bus stops just a 2-minute walk away from EcoHub which service multiple routes. EcoHub is located at 555 Leach Highway, Winthrop in Piney Lakes Reserve. To reach us, if heading westbound, take the first left after Murdoch Drive on Leach Highway. If coming from the Fremantle area, continue on Leach Highway across Murdoch Drive and use the designated U-turn just after the lights to move to the westbound lanes. Go back through the lights at Murdoch Drive and take the first left. Please park in the signed public carpark. Recycling Hub Bring the following items in household quantities for recycling at EcoHub: household batteries, printer cartridges, light globes, mobile phones and chargers, plastic bread tags, oral care products, plastic bottle lids, metal bottle lids, beer can clips and corks.
