Homeschool Gathering: Birak - the first summer

Birak is the Noongar season of first summer. It’s a time of hot, dry days, morning easterlies and afternoon sea breezes, and young birds leaving the nest. Together we’ll learn about the six Noongar seasons on Whadjuk Noongar boodja, and explore how life changes around Bibra Lake as summer arrives. Expect hands-on learning, time outdoors and our much-loved Potion Fizz station. Activities will offer different ways for children to participate, explore and challenge themselves, with opportunities to follow their interests and work at their own pace. Parents and carers stay and participate, making this more than just a learning session. It’s a chance to spend time learning alongside your children, connect with other families and continue building a supportive local homeschooling community. Whether you’re already homeschooling, considering homeschooling, or simply looking for enriching learning experiences outside the classroom, you’re very welcome. Our community basket is available for families who would like to contribute or share. 💚 Recommended ages are 4 to 8 years, although children of all ages are welcome. 🎟️ Ticket information: Every child aged 12 months and over needs their own ticket, including younger and older siblings.
