JCG School Holiday Workshop: A Treehouse for the Future

A Treehouse for the Future Collaborative school holiday workshop Join Gallery Education Coordinator Mel Macaulay for a hands-on school holiday workshop inspired by current exhibition, Regional Arts Triennial – Radical Futures. In this workshop, young makers will work together to create a collaborative sustainable treehouse, using only upcycled and reclaimed materials. We invite children to imagine new possibilities for how we live, create and care for the world around us. The Triennial brings together regional artists exploring collective imagination, ecological responsibility, community resilience and more sustainable futures. Over the session, each participant will transform discarded materials into a shared architectural artwork. Cardboard boxes, fabric, packaging, found objects and other rescued materials will become walls, windows, decorations and unexpected inventions. We’ll ask ‘how can we make something extraordinary from what already exists?’ Event Details Thursday 8 October 11am - 1pm Suitable for children aged 7 and over. Participation is free and all materials are included.
