Exploring Epilepsy, Seizure First Aid & Emergency Anti-Seizure Medication Administration Join Epilepsy WA for our face-to-face training sessions designed to support anyone wanting to better understand epilepsy and respond confidently in a seizure emergency. Your actual attendance time depends on the ticket you purchased: · Exploring Epilepsy & Seizure First Aid only: 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM · Emergency Anti-Seizure Medication Administration only: 12:30 PM – 1:30 PM (Prerequisite applies) · Both modules: 11:00 AM – 1:30 PM (includes a 30-minute break) This combined training event includes two modules: Module 1: Exploring Epilepsy & Seizure First Aid This engaging and interactive session provides foundational knowledge about epilepsy, seizure types, and appropriate seizure first aid responses. You will learn: ✅ About epilepsy and different seizure types ✅ What to do (and what not to do) during a seizure ✅ Practical seizure first aid skills ✅ How to respond confidently in a seizure emergency Time: 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM Certification validity: 2 years Module 2: Emergency Anti-Seizure Medication Administration This practical session builds on the knowledge gained in the Exploring Epilepsy & Seizure First Aid module and provides hands-on training in administering emergency anti-seizure medication following a generic Midazolam care plan. You will learn: ✅ Emergency anti-seizure medication administration procedures ✅ Practical skills using generic Midazolam care plans ✅ How to respond safely and confidently in a medication emergency Time: 12:30 PM – 1:30 PM Certification validity: 1 year Important Prerequisite Information The Exploring Epilepsy & Seizure First Aid module is a prerequisite for attending the Emergency Anti-Seizure Medication Administration module. Participants may: • Complete both modules on the same day, OR • Complete the Exploring Epilepsy & Seizure First Aid module beforehand via a previous face-to-face session, or Epilepsy WA’s online e-Learning module.
