Join us at Byford Library for a fascinating talk about Western Australia’s ghost towns and the people who lived in them. Western Australia has a rich history of communities that have come and gone. While some places have disappeared, the stories of the people who lived and worked there remain.

FamilyHistoryWA (FHWA) is undertaking a six-year project, The People of Western Australia’s Ghost Towns, to record these stories and ensure they are not forgotten. A team of dedicated volunteers, known as the “Ghosties,” are researching the people, places and stories connected to WA’s ghost towns. Our guest speaker, Christine Harris, is President of FamilyHistoryWA and has been researching family history since 1980. Christine has been involved with the Ghost Towns project since 2021 and is passionate about discovering and sharing the stories of these forgotten communities. Come along to Byford Library and discover some of the fascinating stories hidden within Western Australia’s past.
