Special Olympics WA - Swimming competition - September 2026 Special Olympics Australia provides year-round sport, training, and competition opportunities in a welcoming environment where athletes can build confidence, develop skills, and make meaningful connections. This competition is open to swimmers with an intellectual disability and/or autism who haves sport experience training with a coach. It is a great opportunity to experience Special Olympics WA, take part in a welcoming competition environment, challenge yourself, celebrate progress, and learn more about future participation opportunities. Programs and competitions are delivered by experienced coaches, volunteers, and officials, and supported by Special Olympics Western Australia to ensure a positive experience for all athletes. Please note: • Events offered are subjected to numbers selecting an event - a minimum of 3 entrants per event is required to run the race. • All 25m races are subjected to the times stated below. • Swimmers who complete a 25m race faster than the stated time may be disqualified, as these events are intended for athletes who are still developing their skills, confidence, and endurance over shorter distances. • This helps ensure athletes are entered in events that are appropriate to their current swimming ability and supports fair, safe, and meaningful competition for all participants.
