The Great Global Mend is Australia's biggest simultaneous repair event: many hundreds of people across the country, all mending something at the very same moment, in an attempt to break our 2025 record (298 menders) for the most people repairing textiles simultaneously. The City of Melville is proud to be one of the venues taking part. You don't need any sewing experience, menders will be there to help you fix your item from scratch, whether that's sewing on a button, patching a hole with a FabPatch, or mending a hem. Bring a basic hand-sewing kit if you have one, or just bring yourself; we have everything covered. About The Great Global Mend The Great Global Mend is a national initiative presented by FabPatch and Care to Rewear, dedicated to keeping clothing and textiles out of landfill by making repair easy, social and normal again.
