Your Topic: Rethinking Sleep: What your sleep really needs — and why trying harder isn't always the answer What if sleep isn’t something that gets in the way of your productivity, but one of your greatest tools for high performance? In this practical and engaging talk, Clinical Psychologist and Sleep Psychologist Yasmin Gonella will challenge some common ideas about sleep and explore what actually helps us sleep well — from the fundamentals of good sleep, to what your sleep tracker can (and can’t) tell you, and why trying too hard to sleep can backfire. We’ll look at how to adapt sleep advice for neurodivergent brains, why sleep is essential for performance, and some lesser-known, evidence-based sleep strategies for busy people — including how to bounce back after a bad night. Your Speaker: Yasmin Gonella is a Clinical Psychologist, Sleep Psychologist and Founder and Director of Ataraxos, an integrative clinical and sleep psychology practice. She has worked in the sleep field for more than a decade, with experience spanning sleep technology, sleep research and clinical practice working with people experiencing sleep disorders including insomnia. She has been directly supervised by health professionals trained at Harvard Medical School and has designed a fatigue management program for a major mining company, bringing sleep science into the workplace to support health, safety and performance.
