Employment Preparedness & Financial Literacy

The pilot project aims to improve the employment preparation and financial literacy of those identifying as woman entering/re-entering the workforce after a period of disengagement and/or absence from the workforce and the education realm. Two free workshops are delivered as part of the project, both include follow-up workshop for further support. The workshops are delivered in a hybrid mode (in person and online) to help support more women to attend. We'll also be evaluating the workshops and hope to identify other areas of learning requested by those identifying as woman. Workshop 1 - Employment Preparation - hybrid delivery (in person & online) • Thursday, 8 October 8:45am for 9:00am start - 2:00pm • Thursday, 22 October 9:15am for 9:30am start - 12:30pm - Follow up & Reconnect Workshop (follow-up and reconnect workshop, you need to have attended 8 October workshop to attend the follow-up and reconnect workshop) A practical hands-on workshop on resume writing, responding to selection criteria and/or cover letter and key tips on interview skills, with discussion around AI interviews. The follow-up workshop on 22 October allows time to reconnect, ask questions and fine tune your resume. We'll even learn what the difference between a resume and CV is. The workshops are a safe supportive space where everyone is welcome no matter what stage of life you are at or where you are at in your employment journey. BYO lunch. Tea/coffee and light snacks provided. Workshop 2 - Financial Literacy - hybrid delivery (in person & online) • Thursday, 29 October 8:45am for 9:00am start - 2:00pm • Thursday, 12 November 9:15am for 9:30am start - 12:30pm - Follow up & Reconnect Workshop (follow-up and reconnect workshop, you need to have attended 29 October workshop to attend the follow-up and reconnect workshop) A practical hands-on workshop on ways to budget, fixed costs and variable costs, and financial independence. Now you are earning embrace opportunities to grow your money - hints, tips and tricks to feel empowered to take control of your financial security. The follow-up workshop on 12 November allows time to reconnect, ask questions and feel supported. The workshops are a safe supportive space where everyone is welcome no matter what stage of life you are at or where you are at in your financial journey. BYO lunch. Tea/coffee and light snacks provide If you are attending online, the online link will be sent 3 days prior to workshop session/s. If attending online, let us know when registering if you don't have access to a printer and we'll send out hardcopy material prior to workshops session/s. Online sessions will be delivered using Microsoft Office Teams. Waiting List If registrations are 'full', please join the waiting list. It is automated so that if someone has to cancel, then the person next on the waiting list will be offered the place. Also, it helps use to gauge the interest by women for this type of offering.
