The Climate and Security Nexus in the Pacific (Brisbane & online) - Citizen COP 2026

Hosted by the United Nations Association of Australia Young Professionals, this hybrid event explores the climate and security nexus unfolding across our region. Together, we’ll unpack critical questions such as: Why do Small Island Developing States face existential threats to their sovereign maritime zones? Why does the Pacific Resilience Facility matter? And why is Australia bringing world leaders together in Tuvalu and Fiji ahead of COP31 in Antalya? Whether you work in security, business, government, health, finance or another sector, you’ll discover why climate security is everyone’s business — from supply chains and insurance to health systems and energy grids.
