BAD Sydney Crime Book Club at SMSA | October

BAD Sydney Crime Book Club at SMSA It’s great to listen to writers talk about their books, yet we often feel like offering our opinions on the story and characters, and hearing what other readers think. To that end, BAD has created a bookclub just for fans of crime writing. Come along to the new BAD Sydney Crime Book Club at the Sydney Mechanics’ School of Arts on the fourth Wednesday of the month from February to November. At each session, the conversation will be led by a member of the BAD board, each an expert in various aspects of crime writing. Plus, if we can get the author there to join in, we will! Places are limited and booking in advance is essential. See you there! Venue: Tom Keneally Centre, Level 3, Sydney Mechanics’ School of Arts, 280 Pitt Street Sydney Time: 12:30 - 1:30pm (arrive from 12:00pm and bring your lunch) Cost: $10 per session, bookings essential Benefits: BAD book-clubbers receive a 20% discount from Abbey’s Bookstore in Sydney CBD for each month’s selected title after ticket purchase, plus the opportunity to meet the author at the session where we discuss their book (*attending authors will be advertised prior to the event). Every month there will also be a lucky door prize of your next great crime read! Petronella McGovern will be in attendance at this month's book club! September Pick: Every Time She Wakes by Petronella McGovern, hosted by Sue Turnbull Every Time She Wakes is Petronella McGovern’s fifth psychological thriller set in suburbia. But it’s very different. Think Groundhog Day meets Sliding Doors and the possibility that you might get to relive your worst nightmare over and over again until you can work out what you are doing wrong. Structurally, this book is inventive and intriguing. How did she do it? You well may ask.
