The event forms part of AACGS’s commitment to community education, stewardship and social action, helping communities better understand climate change and their role in creating a more sustainable future. Climate Fresk is a collaborative educational workshop based on established climate science and the findings of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). The workshop uses a 39-card game, with each card representing an element of the climate system. Working in teams and guided by a trained facilitator, participants identify the cause-and-effect relationships between the different mechanisms and forces at play. By building the “Fresk” together, participants develop a clearer understanding of the complexity and interconnectedness of climate change. The workshop concludes with a discussion about solutions and opportunities for action. More than 2.4 million people worldwide have already participated in Climate Fresk.
