Full description from organizer

A gathering for kind souls. Come as you are. Pay what you wish. The Mindful Cup is offering a Community Tea House: Tea Meditations for Nepal. My 1st trip to Nepal was in July 2013. I crossed the border bridge between Tibet and Nepal that has since been washed away by the climate crisis. I'm returning to Nepal on my 3rd trip in November, 2026. It is a special place, and I hope to help in some way. As an accredited meditation teacher with The Australian Centre for Meditation and Mindfulness, specialising in mindful Gong Fu tea meditations, I hope this Community Tea Meditation may offer some solace and help. The tea house has always been a place of communal solace and gathering. May we join in a gentle meditation for Nepal and the ritual of Gong Fu Cha. May we foster self-care and extend that compassion to Nepal, her people and Mother Nature. Nepalese community are invited to join for free. . Your Guide Hello, friend. I'm Po-Tien. I'm an accredited meditation teacher, a member of The Meditation Association of Australia, a Northern Beaches local, and a forever-student of meditation and tea culture. Tea is part of my cultural heritage and a compassionate part of global culture. I teach meditation and offer tea as @the.mindful.cup. I guide meditations and share tea as a way to build Community, nurture compassion and foster connection. All are warmly welcomed to my tea table. . Dates: Sat 17 Oct & Sun 18 Oct 3 sessions per day: Limited to 6 seats per session. • Morning 10am-11am • Afternoon 2pm-3pm • Evening 5pm-6pm If there is space, you are welcome to linger for a little longer than the hour. Price: Donation-based. 30% will be donated for Nepal aid. Prices are flexible to invoke collective care and accessibility while fundraising. 30% of all proceeds will be donated to the Nepal Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund. Location: The Mindful Cup studio, Dee Why . Why a Mindful Tea House? In ancient times, tea was a pathway to safety. To Community. Tea is an offering. An invitation. A welcome. A language without words. The tea house was a sanctuary, a third space to gather in quietude. To rest. We would beckon to a stranger to join our fire. We may not have spoken the same language, but we could communicate with bowed heads, hands, gestures and smiles. With compassion. We can do the same today as we offer compassion for ourselves and Nepal. You are welcome here, friend. We all deserve to fill our cups. . Who is this for? The kind soul who wishes to extend care, to rest in ritual. For the experienced Gong Fu tea lover. For the quiet introvert, the tea drinker, the journal writer, the book reader, the sanctuary seeker. For beginners and experienced meditators. When stillness can be too much, the gentle ritual of tea may act as a portal into softness, connection and rest. . What to expect... Be welcomed just as you are. Join a short grounding meditation. Savour a shared pot of tea in the ritual of Gong Fu Cha. Sit in silence or share your voice. Bring a journal. Connect with yourself or with others. Flow. The choice is yours. Rest. Seats are limited to 6 per session. If there is space, you are welcome to linger for a little longer than the hour. . Location The Mindful Cup is located in Dee Why, on the Aboriginal lands of the Gamaraigal people. I am grateful to share my cultural practice on these lands, and I respectfully bow to the Traditional Custodians, and to Elders past and present, to communities still here. I acknowledge their living connection to Country, culture and spirit. I extend that respect to solidarity - to uplift and listen. .
