No steps to remember. No shape to perform. Instead, there is a body. Breath. Sensation. Rhythm. Curiosity. Space. And the possibility of discovering movement that was already waiting underneath everything you thought you were supposed to do. ECSTATIC CONTACT is a three-hour immersive movement experience exploring what happens when Ecstatic Dance meets Contact Improvisation. We move from inner listening to outer connection. From sensation to expression. From moving alone to discovering movement with another. And eventually, from movement into stillness. You don’t need to know how to dance. You simply need to be willing to listen. ✨ YOUR JOURNEY ARRIVE We begin by slowing down. A shared arrival. A cup of ceremonial cacao. A moment to leave the outside world at the door. This is a sober, presence-based space — an invitation to experience the journey with clarity, awareness and full connection to your body. SENSE Miray guides you into somatic awareness through breath, sensation, grounding and gentle movement. Eyes soften. Attention turns inward. The body begins to speak in smaller languages. AWAKEN Movement gradually becomes more expressive. The music opens. The rhythm shifts. And what began as one small impulse can become a whole-body conversation. EXPLORE With eyes closed, you are invited into an Ecstatic Dance journey where there is no choreography and no performance. You listen. You respond. You follow what feels alive. Adriano will guide the room through a dynamic musical landscape, drawing from his experience as an Ecstatic Dance DJ and facilitator of movement-based musical journeys. The music will build, expand, shift and soften with the energy of the room. The music becomes more than something we listen to. It becomes something we move through. CONNECT As the journey unfolds, Contact Improvisation enters the space. You may encounter another body. A hand. A shoulder. Weight. Momentum. Stillness. A shared rhythm. You may choose to connect. You may choose not to. Both are part of the dance. SURRENDER There is nothing to achieve. You don’t need to make anything happen. You simply become available to what is already happening. INTEGRATE And when the dance has taken us somewhere new… we stop. We lie down. The room becomes quieter. The body becomes still. The music softens. Throughout the Ecstatic Dance journey, he will take the room through a carefully curated and intuitively responsive musical landscape. Rather than following a fixed playlist, the journey unfolds dynamically — allowing rhythm, energy, atmosphere and the movement of the room to shape what comes next. Expect moments to build. Moments to expand. Moments to lose yourself in rhythm. Moments of intensity. Moments of softness. And moments where everything becomes quiet enough to hear yourself again. The music creates an arc — taking you somewhere, opening something, and eventually giving you space to come back down. You don’t simply dance to the music. You let the music take you somewhere. 🤍 CONTACT IS AN INVITATION, NOT AN EXPECTATION This is an important part of the experience. Contact Improvisation involves exploring movement with another person and may include physical touch, weight sharing and close proximity. Touch is always optional. You are never expected to participate in contact. You can: say yes. say no. say not now. change your mind. return to your own dance at any moment. You can participate in the entire event without engaging in physical contact. You do not need to explain or justify a boundary. And equally, another person’s “no” is complete. We practise listening not only to movement, but to boundaries. Consent is ongoing, specific and mutual. A previous yes does not mean a future yes. A connection in one moment does not create an expectation for the next. We dance with each other — not through each other’s boundaries. 🌙 EYES-CLOSED EXPLORATION Parts of the Ecstatic Dance journey will be explored with eyes closed. This is an invitation to shift attention away from visual perception and towards sensation, sound, breath and inner awareness. You are always welcome to open your eyes. There is no requirement to keep them closed. You may also choose to use an eye mask if this helps you feel more immersed in your own sensory experience. Your body, your awareness and your sense of safety come first. 🧘‍♀️ YOU DON’T HAVE TO BE A DANCER No previous dance experience is required. You don’t need to know Ecstatic Dance. You don’t need to know Contact Improvisation. You don’t need to be flexible. You don’t need to be “good at movement.” You don’t even need to consider yourself a dancer. This experience is for anyone curious about: movement presence expression sensation connection play listening embodiment Come exactly as you are. 🌿 WHAT TO BRING Please bring: 💧 A water bottle — strongly recommended. 🧘‍♀️ Yoga mat — optional, but welcome. 👁️ Eye mask / blindfold — optional, but recommended for the eyes-closed portion of the journey. 👕 Comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely. 🧦 Something warm for the final Sound Journey. 🧣 A small blanket or shawl if you like extra comfort while resting. You are also welcome to bring anything else that helps you feel comfortable and grounded. Please keep valuables to a minimum. 🍫 ABOUT CACAO Ceremonial cacao will be shared as part of the opening journey. The cacao is offered as a gentle way to arrive, connect and transition into the experience. If you have any allergies, dietary considerations, sensitivities or concerns about participating in the cacao portion, please let us know before the event. You are never required to consume anything. Your participation is always your choice. 🕯️ A SOBER SPACE ECSTATIC CONTACT is a sober event. To support presence, consent, embodied awareness and the integrity of the space, please do not arrive under the influence of alcohol or recreational drugs, and please do not bring or consume alcohol or recreational substances during the event. There will be ceremonial cacao as part of the experience. This is an invitation to explore what becomes possible when you meet the music, movement, connection and your own body with clarity. Come as you are. Come clear. Come present. 🕯️ BEFORE YOU ARRIVE Give yourself enough time to arrive without rushing. We recommend arriving 10–15 minutes early so you can settle in, use the bathroom, fill your water bottle and arrive into the space before the journey begins. Wear clothing you can comfortably move, stretch and rest in. Avoid arriving immediately after a very heavy meal. Hydrate throughout the day.
