Meet the Bees - Guided Tour of the Centennial Park Bees & Candle Rolling - 2026

Get up close and personal with the Centennial Parklands bees! Join one of our resident beekeepers from Rooftop Bees and get suited up in this unique behind the scenes experience. You'll get an introduction to bees and the important role they play in the environment and food security. You'll then get changed into a beekeeping suit and step into the apiary to see inside a real beehive and get to hold frames of bees and honey. You will taste honey directly from the hive and roll two beeswax candles to take home with you. Please wear closed shoes, long pants and avoid wearing strong perfumes or deodorants. Waivers need to be signed and people with allergies or anaphylaxis are strongly advised not to participate. Meeting point: Centennial Homestead, 1 Grand Drive, Centennial Park. Things to know before you attend Please come prepared, as this program will go ahead in all-weather unless it is unsafe to do so (for example, during high winds or thunderstorms). Participants must wear closed shoes, long pants and avoid wearing strong perfumes or deodorants. This program is suitable for adults and participants 12 years or older. Waivers need to be signed and people with allergies or anaphylaxis are strongly advised not to participate. We reserve the right to cancel the event in case of dangerous weather or if minimum participation numbers are not met. In these circumstances a refund will be offered.
