The International Order Unravels: A Conversation with The Honourable Bob Carr

The global stage is set for a new era of competition. The international order that has underpinned global stability for decades is breaking down, replaced by great-power rivalry, unilateral action, and short-term deals. The United States, once the primary architect and funder of global institutions, is now driven by a different set of priorities. This seismic shift leaves US-aligned middle powers like Australia asking critical questions: • What parts of the rules-based order can still be preserved? • How do we navigate a world that has become far more uncertain? • What is Australia's role in this new, fragmented landscape? To explore these vital questions, the Rotary Club of Sydney invites you to an exclusive luncheon with The Honourable Bob Carr. About Our Speaker: The Honourable Bob Carr is the state’s longest-serving Premier and a former Foreign Minister of Australia. He currently chairs the Australian Heritage Council and the board of Museums of History NSW and sits on the board of Sydney Water. His extensive experience in both state and federal politics provides a unique and authoritative perspective on the challenges and opportunities facing Australia on the world stage.
