This event will provide an opportunity for allied health professionals to network with peers, gain insights into key developments impacting the sector, and hear from expert speakers discussing important topics, including: • The Primary Care 10-Year Plan and its implications for allied health. • Medicare Reform and what it means for the future of primary care. • The role of multidisciplinary teams in general practice and how integrated models of care can strengthen collaboration between primary care and allied health professionals. • Digital Health in Allied Health Practice. Venue: Burke and Wills Hotel, 554 Ruthven St, Toowoomba City QLD 4350 Guest Speakers: Peter Wallace Acting Executive Director, Primary Care and Integration – DDWMPHN | Physiotherapist Strengthening Primary Care Through Allied Health- Peter will explore how the Primary Health Care 10 Year Plan and MyMedicare reforms are shaping the future of primary care and what these changes mean for allied health professionals. Drawing on his experience as both a physiotherapist and a Director of Primary Care, Peter will discuss the growing role of allied health within integrated, team-based models of care and the opportunities these reforms present for the future of primary healthcare. Jackie O’Connor Digital Health Lead, Allied Health Professions Australia Jackie is a Prosthetist Orthotist by clinical professional background with a Master’s in Health Service Management who found her way into policy and advocacy due to a passion for wanting to address practice problems at a systems level. Jackie believes solutions to many system challenges lie within digital initiatives and is therefore determined to provide the allied health sector with the opportunity to easily engage with fit for purpose digital solutions. Jordan Craig APA Titled Sports & Exercise Physiotherapist | Practice Principal, South Burnett Physiotherapy Working Better Together: Allied Health in MDTs. Drawing on his experience as an Exercise Physiotherapist working within an Osteoarthritis Screening Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) Program in South Burnett, Jordan will provide an allied health perspective on multidisciplinary care in general practice. He will discuss the benefits of collaborating alongside GPs in a coordinated model of care, highlighting how team-based care benefits allied health professionals, patients and general practice, and the opportunities MDT models create for delivering integrated care in rural and regional communities.
