Arafmi Carers Crafternoon - Townsville

Do you support someone with mental health needs, sometimes putting theirs first? Connect with others who get it and learn something new. Caring for someone through mental health challenges is one of the most human things we can do. And one of the loneliest, if we face it alone. Caring is complex. Community helps. You are invited to join Arafmi Carer Facilitator Kimberley Schoch for a weekly creative program specifically designed to support mental health carers. Registration is essential. Our creative wellbeing program brings together music, art, story and reflection to help us explore our emotions, strengthen self-awareness and reconnect with ourselves at our own pace. It meets us where we are, not where we think we should be. No experience needed, just a willingness to show up. The session/s will be a chance to: • Connect with local carers who understand • Enjoy time that’s just for you • Reflect on your caring role and what you need and more… This time will give you an opportunity to pause, recharge and leave a little more refreshed. Taking time for your own wellbeing is one of the most practical things you can do as a carer. It reduces stress, protects against burnout and helps you show up more fully for yourself and the people you care for. These relaxed, supportive sessions offer a safe space to share experiences, learn from one another and explore topics such as self-care, setting boundaries and making time for yourself. You don’t have to navigate your caring journey alone. Come along, connect with others and take some time for yourself. Bring a friend, or come along solo, we will meet you where you are at.
