Croom Blooms - Native Plant ID Session - BioBlitz@Croom 2026

Join plant enthusiasts from Growing Illawarra Natives, Carl's Rainforest Experiences and Wild Urban Moss to record Croom's botanical beauty. Interested to learn more about the plants in this special patch of urban bushland known as Illawarra Lowlands Grassy Woodlland? Or are you a native plant enthusiast that can help identify plant species? Join us as we aim to count as many different plant species as we can in a small section of Croom Reserve. Soak up the contagious enthusiasm for native plants from session guides Emma Rooksby (Growing Illawarra Natives) and Carl Glaister (Carl’s Rainforest Experiences). Biologist and moss expert Alison Haynes will also be sharing her expertise on moss and lichens. This event is designed for adults and young people aged 16+. Please book 1 ticket for EACH person attending this session. This activity is part of the 2026 BioBlitz@Croom, where we are trying to record as many plants, animals and fungi as we can on November 6 and 7. Bring your curiosity for all things green as we aim to identify as many plants as we can and upload records into the citizen science app iNaturalist.
