SIDESTEP

SIDESTEP is a collaborative music and arts project by Sammi Carr and Lucy Ismay built on a shared vision: putting FLINTA baddies on the lineup, where we belong. Inclusive creative scenes require a diversity of sound, identities, experience, organisation and support to thrive. SIDESTEP aims to showcase emerging artists and introduce fresh sounds and culture to the Wollongong electronic music scene. We want to create spaces for FLINTA artists to have the freedom to truly experiment with their style and performance with a community that celebrates their authentic expression. It is time to address a serious gap in the scene and give space for new talent to be heard, new sounds to be felt, and new connections to form. Everyone flourishes when the dancefloor does. A healthy ecosystem does not survive with stagnation and resistance - it thrives with the cross-pollination of ideas and unique approaches to artistry. We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the land on which this event takes place, the Dharawal people, and pay our respects to Elders past and present. Free tickets are available for First Nations people — please get in touch with us if this is you :) LINEUP: Luce-i Disco Dora Bridgett b2b Scarr Ms TigerBee
