Sweat It Out: Beyond the Court — Jamii Padel x Vulnera

Join us for a fun day of moving, connecting and discussing! Hi Everyone! 👋🏾✨ So... what’s a Jamii Padel x Vulnera event about? Simple: You come, you learn, you play, you discuss. This time, we’re taking things Beyond the Court. We’ll start with the usual Jamii Padel Social vibe, then head off court for food, drinks and a conversation about something we think sport does incredibly well: bringing people together. What’s Jamii Padel? We started Jamii to create a space for Black people to feel seen and at home in padel, because we weren’t seeing that around us. That mission still guides everything we do. That said, our space is about inclusion, not exclusion. We’re open to anyone who understands and supports what we’re building. If you vibe with the mission and the community spirit, you’re welcome! What’s Vulnera? Vulnera is a Belgian non-profit creating safe(r) spaces where people can show vulnerability and feel that their stories matter. Through podcasts, conversations and community events, they explore topics ranging from mental health and identity to experiences within Black and Afro-diasporic communities. At its core, Vulnera uses vulnerability and conversation as tools for connection, making the Jamii collaboration a natural bridge between connection through conversation and connection through movement. Together, we want to look at padel as more than just a sport. What happens when competition brings people closer together? How does playing with strangers change the way we connect? And can sport create the kind of conversations we might not normally have? That’s what we’ll explore Beyond the Court. 👀 What to bring? 🎾 Good shoes and a fit you feel comfortable playing in, some water and a good vibe! If you have your own racket, feel free to bring it. 🎾 If you don’t have a racket, they’re available for rental on location for €5. Padel balls are provided by Jamii Padel. 🎾 Complete beginner? Perfect. We’ll explain the basics before we start and make sure everyone knows enough to get onto court and play. 🎾 Whether you're new to padel or play regularly, you're always welcome! We’ll pair players across the Jamii and Vulnera communities to maximise both learning and fun. 🎾 After padel, we’ll head to Grand Canal together for the second part of the evening.
