Towards a New EU Energy Governance Framework

As the EU reviews its Governance Regulation on the Energy Union and Climate Action, and advances its ‘One Europe, One Market’ Roadmap, this event will explore how EU energy governance should evolve to support a stronger, more integrated and resilient Internal Energy Market. The discussion will look at whether current institutional arrangements remain fit for purpose in light of geopolitical developments, ambitious decarbonization targets, and technical and economic realities, and what governance reforms may be needed to deliver on Europe’s needs for affordable energy, security of supply, industrial competitiveness and climate goals. Bringing together policymakers, regulators and industry representatives, the event will encourage a forward-looking discussion on the future of EU energy governance. The event will include the presentation of CERRE’s project “Towards a More Effective Governance Framework for the European Energy Sector”.
