Temple of Eros

An Embodied Ritual of Desire, Connection, Shadow and Self "The Temple of Eros blew open our collective minds, hearts, and bodies. We danced. We connected. We moved in ways that felt real." ​ 6 PM — Boundaries & Desire Workshop 8 PM — Temple of Eros Ritual Temple of Eros begins with something very practical: your yes, your no, and what you actually want. ​ In the Boundaries & Desires workshop we practice together. Feeling a yes and a no in the body. Making invitations. Declining them. Asking someone to come closer. Moving them away. Wanting, acting, and changing your mind. We created a shared culture of honouring what's true, Then we create a room where people can stop being socially rigid about movement and encounter. ​ After the workshop, we clear out, the room is reset, and we enter the Temple. ​ We begin with a guided meditation through the body, then dance becomes the vehicle for the ritual. EROS here becomes bigger than sexual. The room can become sensual; Attraction, flirtation, and closeness are welcome. But EROS is the life-force that makes someone crawl around like an animal, fling themselves across the floor, move beautifully, be grotesque, make contact, refuse contact, desire someone, abandon interaction, make a strange sound, become ridiculous, become archetypal, disappear into yourself, or suddenly feel very, very alive. Feral audacity is the governing spirit of the room. ​ And underneath all of that play is a descent-and-return ritual. ​ We begin intact: head, heart, identity, ego. Then, at intervals throughout the dance, we start taking ourselves apart. First, we partner up and ceremonially cut off each other’s heads and throw them into the Void. We dance without them for a while. Then we go deeper and take out our hearts. What is left when you are no longer moving from the part of you that thinks, explains, performs, or even knows who you are? What wants to move when you stop asking it to make sense? ​ We spend some time there in shadow, essence, and the Void, feeling what might emerge. And then we make our way back. Heart restored. Head restored. Self returned. Every choice here is yours. You can move alone, connect with others, say yes, say no, stay at the edges and watch, or follow whatever your body is asking for next. I’m on the mic throughout the ritual, moving through the room with you, guiding the descent and return and actively holding the container as it unfolds. ​ The Boundaries & Desire workshop is a prerequisite for entering the Temple.
