Full description from organizer

Meeting new people & making friends in Kelowna can be tough. Especially if you work online. That's why this exists. TL;DR We made this event because it's hard to meet people in Kelowna if you don't want to go to a running club or networking event. (If you think the same, you might like it) You've got the flexible schedule and the freedom to work from anywhere on planet earth. What you don't have is coworkers. Or anyone to talk to between Zoom calls except your cat. This is a meetup for remote workers who wanna close the laptop and meet actual humans (or, at least, cowork in their vicinity). There's nothing like it in Kelowna right now, so here we are. We're doin' it because we also work remotely. It's the coolest to be able to meet people from around the world - but what about here in Kelowna? You basically have two choices: • Networking events. • Running clubs. Only problem is... • Most networking events feel awkward and transactional. • Running clubs you have to...like running. So we're doing this as an "anti-networking" event. The goal is to connect with people and make cool, like-minded friends. We're leaving the business cards and pitches at home plzz. We really want this to be an authentic space for genuine connection, so just show up as you are. It's not speed dating, either. We want a fun space for everyone to enjoy; singles, married folk, single cell self-reproducing organisms, whoever. But it ain't a singles mixer. Keep it in your pants, Romeo. Because we understand not everyone is super duper captain extrovert (props to you if you are tho), we'll have three groups going at the same time to match your vibe. Each group will be led by a facilitator. • Deep Talk: you don't like surface-level small chat (we don't either). We've got conversation starter cards so nobody has to raise the "so what do you do" question • Small Talk: you want easy, casual chats with no pressure, but maybe not the DEEP sh*t yet. • No Talk: you want to co-work near people without talking to them. Honestly, valid The first hour will be socializing. The second hour will be coworking. It's $10 to join. You get a free drink with it + it covers the organizing expenses. We're limiting the spots to 20 people since this is a new event. First come, first serve. Stoked to meet you! -Louis & Jenna
