Finding new queer friends can be surprisingly difficult, even in a city with a vibrant LGBTQ+ scene. You can go to events, follow community spaces online, know a few people here and there, and still feel like you’re meeting the same circles or not quite finding the right moment to connect with someone new. That’s the idea behind Lesbian & Sapphic Speed Friending by VoxHaven. The evening is designed to make meeting people feel more natural and less intimidating. Instead of arriving at an open mixer and wondering who to approach, you’ll move through a series of short, structured conversations with different people throughout the night. VoxHaven organizes the rounds and pairings so you can focus on the person in front of you. Optional conversation prompts are also available if you want a little help getting past the usual introductions. You can come on your own or with a friend. There’s no need to already know anyone in the room. The goal isn’t to force an instant friendship or turn the evening into a dating event. It’s simply to create more opportunities for lesbian, bisexual, queer and sapphic women to meet, talk, find common ground and hopefully leave with a few connections they’d genuinely like to continue. And this is not speed dating. How Speed Friending Works 💬 Join the guided rounds During each Speed Friending round, you’ll meet a different person or small group. Each conversation has a clear beginning and ending, so you don’t have to worry about approaching strangers, interrupting conversations or figuring out when it is time to move on. 📱 Let VoxHaven guide the experience VoxHaven’s platform helps manage the pairings and rotations throughout the evening. You’ll know who you’re meeting, where to go next and when each round is changing, so you can focus on the conversation instead of the logistics. 🃏 Go beyond small talk Optional VoxHaven conversation prompts are available to help make starting a conversation easier. You might talk about interests, Montréal life, travel, hobbies, community, personal experiences, things you care about or unexpected things you have in common. You are always free to answer only what you feel comfortable sharing. 🔄 Keep meeting new people After each round, we guide the rotations so you can focus on the conversations rather than figuring out where to go next. Drinks will be available for purchase directly from the venue. 💛 More than a one-night connection VoxHaven is building an ongoing LGBTQ+ community both online and in person. Our goal is to make it easier to meet people at events and have ways to stay connected afterward, rather than having every interaction end when the night is over. The entire experience is specifically designed so that someone can arrive alone without knowing anybody and still have a clear, comfortable way to start meeting people. Community Supporter Community Supporter tickets provide the same event experience as General Admission, while the additional support helps VoxHaven continue creating accessible, intentional LGBTQ+ community experiences. Choosing this ticket is completely optional. Refund Policy Refunds are available up to 14 days before the event. Refund requests submitted less than 14 days before the event are not guaranteed.
