Dive into powerful Black stories and spark creativity in young readers at this fun, inspiring literacy celebration! Join the Black Parent Collective for a family-centred literacy experience celebrating the power of books, storytelling, and representation in the lives of Black children and families! In partnership with literacy leaders, including talented children's and young adult authors, this special event will bring families together to explore the joy of reading, discover inspiring stories, and celebrate the voices shaping the next generation of readers. Families will have opportunities to engage with literacy experts, connect with authors, discover books that reflect the richness and diversity of Black experiences, and explore ways to nurture a love of reading at home. Through meaningful connections, engaging activities, and stories that inspire imagination, children will be encouraged to see themselves reflected in the books they read and to dream beyond the pages. We believe every child deserves access to stories that affirm their identity, celebrate their brilliance, and open doors to new possibilities. This event is an opportunity for parents and caregivers to discover valuable literacy resources, strengthen family reading practices, and build meaningful connections with others who share a commitment to raising confident, curious, and enthusiastic young readers.
