Seed Saving: Native Wildflowers at Claremont Nature Centre

Discover the value of saving seeds and native plants! Join us at Claremont Nature Centre for a free, hands-on community event celebrating our local native wildflowers! Learn about meadow native plants, sustainable seed collection, and how you can help support their propagation—right in your own backyard (or front yard). This event will begin with a presentation introducing some of our local meadow wildflowers, and tips for collecting and storing seeds responsibly. ***Weather dependent we'll then head outside for a casual walk around Claremont’s meadows, identifying and harvesting. We’ll finish by coming together to clean, prepare, and mix the collected seeds for storage and spring planting. Each participant will create their own customized native wildflower seed mix to take home, along with the knowledge and inspiration to help native plants thrive in their own community. Price: Free Cancellation Policy: The event will run rain or shine, but will be cancelled if there is a significant chance of thunderstorms or other hazardous weather.
