Third Annual Community Walk to End IPV

Join us for the Third Annual Community Walk to End Intimate Partner Violence, a powerful community walk to raise awareness and stand strong. Third Annual Community Walk to End Intimate Partner Violence Bethesda House, The Denise House, Herizon House, Luke's Place, Safety Network Durham - a Division of CFSD, Victim Services Durham, Durham Rape Crisis Centre, Women's Multicultural Resource & Counselling Centre (WMRCC) of Durham, YWCA Durham, and the Region of Durham invite you to join us for the Third Annual Community Walk to End Intimate Partner Violence, a powerful event to raise awareness and show community support. Event Schedule 10 a.m. Welcome and opening remarks 10:20 a.m. Community Walk begins (approximately two kilometres) 11 a.m. to noon Complimentary refreshments, light snacks, and opportunities to connect with local organizations through educational and community resource tables. This community event brings people together to raise awareness, honour survivors and stand united against intimate partner violence (IPV). IPV affects individuals, families and communities of all backgrounds. By walking together, we demonstrate our shared commitment to fostering safety, respect and healthy relationships for everyone. Whether you are a survivor, ally, a family member, service provider or community member, your presence sends a powerful message: Intimate partner violence has no place in our community and no one should face it alone. Together, we can inspire meaningful conversations, strengthen community connections and take another step toward a future free from violence. Please bring a reusable water bottle. A water refill station will be available inside the Region of Durham building; disposable plastic water bottles will not be provided. Wear comfortable walking shoes and dress for the weather. We also encourage participants to wear purple in support of survivors and to recognize Woman Abuse Awareness Month. Prize draw All registered participants will be entered in a random prize draw for a chance to win one of nine gift baskets, each valued at a minimum of $100.
