Beyond the Old World

Ancient Roots. Emerging Regions. Thousands of years of winemaking. When we think of the Old World, France, Italy and Spain often come to mind. But what about the countries where some of the world's earliest winemaking traditions began? From the ancient vineyards of Eastern Europe to the historic wine of Asia & the Eastern Mediterranean, a remarkable wine renaissance is underway. Once overlooked on the international stage, these regions are reclaiming their place in the wine world through indigenous grape varieties, centuries-old traditions and a new generation of innovative winemakers. Join Vice-President Marie-France Champagne for this tasting featuring 14 wines from 7 different countries. A New Venue to Discover! We are also excited to introduce a change of scenery! For this event, the Guild will be visiting Ente at Thali, a new setting for some of our tastings. Located at 136 O’Connor Street, the space offers plenty of free street parking. In addition, Chef Joe is offering his selection of Thalis at a discounted price of $25 for those of you wishing to dine on-site before the tasting. We look forward to seeing you there!
