I bring the drums, and I'll guide you through enough to play along from the very first beat. No background in music required. Whether you're looking to de-stress, meet new people, or just try something you've always been curious about, the drum circle is a judgment-free space where everyone belongs. There's something about playing rhythm together that just feels good, and you'll feel it from the first session. Event Details ____________________________________________________________________ 📍 Location: Bronson Centre — Nepean Room Note: The Nepean Room can be accessed through the door at the corner of Bronson Ave and Nepean St. 🕖 Time: 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm | Doors open 5:45 pm 🅿 Parking: There is free parking on the street nearby, as well as a paid parking lot off of nepean avenue. ____________________________________________________________________ 🎟 Tickets — sliding scale: • Accessible: $16 • Standard: $22.50 About your facilitator I'm Jake Meleras, a musician and educator based in Ottawa. I teach singing, piano, and composition at Long & Mcquade and the Redbird School of Music. When I discovered drum circles and free improvisation years ago I fell in love. What hooked me was the approach: knowledge is shared, not gatekept, and music becomes a channel through which people connect with each other. I believe in playing music in the truest sense of the word, to play. Music should be fun, stimulating, and accessible to everyone, regardless of background or experience.
