Petrykivka Painting is one of Ukraine's most beautiful folk-art traditions, celebrated for its vibrant flowers, leaves, berries, and flowing ornamental patterns. Traditionally, this decorative technique was used to adorn walls, stoves, and household items — believed to ward off evil and sorrow. Some traditional hearth paintings even trace family lineage, turning everyday surfaces into living records of heritage. Every motif in Petrykivka carries the meaning: • Flowers & plants – renewal • Hollyhocks – fame and nobility • Irises – new beginnings • Kalyna (viburnum) – family, ancestral roots, vital strength • Rooster – fire, spiritual awakening, rebirth of nature • Firebirds & peacocks – light, happiness, prosperity • Oak leaves – endurance, strength Come spend an inspiring evening exploring this unique Ukrainian art form, learning traditional brushstrokes and creating something beautiful with your own hands.
