Tools of Craft: Crocheted Rope Bowls

Slow down, unwind, and learn the mindful craft of crocheting a functional and fun rope bowl. Join us at OTL on October 28th from 6-9pm to learn to crochet your own beautiful and functional basket out of macrame rope. Note that you will not complete your basket in this time, but you will have the skills (and video tutorials) to continue after the session. This is a beginner friendly workshop. Your registration includes 3 hours of personalized instruction plus video tutorials after the workshop is over (in case you get stuck). You will also receive enough macrame cord to complete one small basket PLUS a crochet hook to do the work. These are yours to keep. Instead of hand or power tools, you’ll be working with hand-crafting tools — inviting you to slow down and connect with the rhythm of making by hand. You’ll learn a series of fun, approachable techniques to create your own unique, functional basket. Your instructor, Carmen Bohn, is an educator and creative experience designer. A strong believer in the power of creative wellness, she often uses art as a way to teach, connect, and help others feel better. Carmen is excited to bring her creative energy to the OTL, inviting participants to explore—and perhaps fall in love with—some new tools: the tools of craft. NOTES: a) Workshops are transferable to another person and only refundable if we have people on the waiting list who can take your spot. If a non-member registers at the member rate, we will follow up to collect the price difference plus a $15 administrative fee. c) If you are registering for a young person, please note that children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult with a ticket for the same workshop. Children under the age of 13 are not permitted in many of our workshops (other than Tinkering School and some demo nights).
