BOOK LAUNCH: The Lost Reserve

Celebrating the launch of "The Lost Reserve: The Taking and Remaking of the Chacachas Treaty Nation" at the ShuBox Theatre. Please join the University of Regina Press on Wednesday, October 7th, 2026 at 7:00 P.M. for the launch of "The Lost Reserve: The Taking and Remaking of the Chacachas Treaty Nation", co-authored by historian Kenton Storey and the Chacachas Treaty Nation. "The Lost Reserve" offers an unprecedented look inside a 150 year-long battle to reclaim stolen land. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn about the how the Chacachas resisted, organized, and eventually won a judgement in a more-than-twenty-year-long court case that affirmed the continued existence of the Chacachas Treaty Nation—and yet, they remain in administrative limbo without reserve lands, as if the system were designed to stall reconciliation. Treaty Commissioner of Saskatchewan Kathy Walker will be in conversation with Chief Charlie Bear of the Chacachas Treaty Nation and historian Kenton Storey. The book launch is a hybrid event; please register to attend in-person or online. A reception will follow where refreshments will be served and books will be available for sale and the authors will be pleased to sign copies. Date: Wednesday, October 7, 2026 Time: 7:00 P.M -- Doors open at 6:30 P.M. Location: ShuBox Theatre (Riddell Centre, University of Regina Main Campus, 3737 Wascana Parkway, Regina, SK) This event is hosted by the University of Regina Press in collaboration with SaskBooks, the Dr. John Archer Library & Archives, and the bi-annual Indigenous Research Engagement Day (a collaboration between Saskatchewan NEIHR, the First Nations University of Canada, the University of Regina, and the University of Saskatchewan).
