World Rivers Day at River Landing

Join local organizations for a free afternoon of river science, history, art, and community at River Landing. Celebrate the South Saskatchewan River through interactive exhibits, science demonstrations, guided tours, family activities, and opportunities to connect with local organizations working to understand, protect, and celebrate our waterways. This is a free, drop-in event. No ticket is required to attend. Free • Family Friendly • Come-and-Go Event Featured Activities River Science Demonstrations Meet researchers from the Global Institute for Water Security and discover how rivers shape the landscape through an interactive sediment table demonstration. Water Testing Activities Visit the Safe Drinking Water Foundation booth to learn about water quality and participate in water testing demonstrations. Attendees are invited to bring a water sample! Art and River Connections Connect with the river through art inspired by the Remai Moderns's Carried by rivers, held by lands exhibition. Family-Friendly Games and Exhibits Explore engaging displays and activities hosted by the City of Saskatoon and community partners. Guided Tours Carried by rivers, held by lands Exhibition Tours Take a guided tour of the Carried by rivers, held by lands exhibition with staff from the Remai Modern. These 20 minute tours offer visitors a unique opportunity to explore artistic perspectives on rivers and water. Tours will depart from River Landing at the following times: • 1:30 pm • 2:30 pm South Saskatchewan River History Tours Join guides from Meewasin for a walking tour exploring the history, significance, and evolving relationship between Saskatoon and the South Saskatchewan River. These ~30 minute tours will depart from River Landing at the following times: • 2:00 pm • 3:00 pm This event is hosted in partnership with the Global Institute for Water Security, Meewasin Valley Authority, Remai Modern, Safe Drinking Water Foundation, and the City of Saskatoon.
