John Stewart, B.A., CFP, CSP Director, Business Development, Sun Life John Stewart has been in the financial services industry since 1989, as a financial advisor, branch manager and director. As a director with a leading financial services company in Canada, John was directly involved in the design, implementation and delivery of an industry leading national training program. As a long time advisor himself, John’s strength lies in his ability to relate to advisors in a way that is relaxed, entertaining and thought provoking. He is an award winning public speaker, and has helped thousands of individuals and business owners across North America increase their personal and business effectiveness. He consistently blends his humour, inspiration and life stories that leave his audiences with the desire to achieve more in their lives. As an author and adventurer, John has climbed Mount Kilimanjaro 3 times, and also to the base camp of Mt. Everest. Allison Steele Compliance Manager, Finanical Horizons Allison Steele is a finance and compliance professional with over a decade of experience in the Canadian financial services industry. She is recognized for her expertise in regulatory oversight, advisor conduct, and ethical standards, supported by extensive experience in client‑facing advisory roles. Allison graduated from Sheridan College in 2011 with an advanced diploma in finance, where she developed a strong foundation in financial planning, investment principles, and risk management. She began her career as a licensed mutual fund representative and life insurance advisor, working in this capacity from 2011 to 2021. During this time, she supported clients in building and protecting their wealth through tailored investment and insurance solutions, gaining practical insight into suitability, disclosure, and client protection obligations. Following her advisory career, Allison transitioned into compliance and joined Financial Horizons as a Compliance Manager. In this role, she supports regulatory compliance, oversees advisor conduct, manages risk, and promotes best practices across the organization. With experience spanning both advisory and compliance functions, Allison brings a balanced and practical perspective to compliance education, combining real‑world client experience with strong governance and regulatory expertise.
